Vacation to Europe

Thank god that I finally got out of the Pacific Northwest and over to Europe. Things are MUCH more civilized in the Old World, and I fit in MUCH better.

Here I am in a museum in Berlin with an Assyrian statue. Culture, finally!

I would have fit in well with the people that made the Ishtar Gate. Isn't my profile gorgeous? My nose job is perfect.

My traveling companion, Tamara, matched her outfit to mine. Apparently, everyone is jealous of my style sense.

Everyone laughs at all of my jokes.

The Berliners have no respect for how to properly drink a beer! The pilsner on the left is mixed with Sprite and the porter on the right with Coke! Pansy Germans can't handle their liquor like a geisha can!

I took a lover during my travels. Isn't he hunky, in that Renaissance fair kind of way?

My lover's palace was divine. Why doesn't my house in Seattle have a ballroom?

I enjoyed looking at the peasants' houses across the river from my lover's castle. I like it when royal people like me can separate themselves from the masses.

The memories of my time in Germany are too much to bear given my dreary existence in Seattle. I'll have to post the pictures from the Czech Republic in a few days so I don't get too overwhelmed.

The harvest

I hitched a ride out with the harvest.

fungi fun

I found many mushrooms of different varieties but none to match the specifications of my companions.

Mushrooming in the Cascades

Dragged into the woods again on a forced mushroom hunt. How disheartening to confront moss as tall I am.

cabin

We spent the night in a cabin that reeked of country kitch.  When will I again be amidst people of refinement?

Old Growth

My traveling companions dragged me along on a grueling .5 mile hike through the woods.  I managed to lose them at the "Signs of Life" interpretive station, but, to my horror, they returned 40 minutes later and reclaimed me.

Concrete

Headed to the North Cascades to get out of the city for a weekend.  Found myself in Concrete, WA where locals had recently unearthed a 77 year old time capsule containing. . . concrete.  I kid you not.

Oregon Coast Vacay

Idaho Wilderness

This was not exactly the luxurious vacation I had in mind but it wasn't so bad. I stayed dry most of the time and my lipstick never ran. My oarsman was competent but far too sassy for my taste.

June defenses

Lately I've been educating myself at the Ph.D. defenses of a few girl friends and socializing wildly at several celebratory events. Good times! If only everyone didn't have to up and move away on me as a result of all these graduations : (

Dirty Hippies

Look at all these dirty hippies lazing about. The crowd reeks of Nag Champa and human feces, the music is highly unoriginal and I am too hot. The view is rather splendid but the company is uncultured and leaves much to be desired.

Seattle Shower

So this careless imbecile that I know has gotten herself in the maternal condition. I made an appearance at the baby shower, caught up briefly with a sister geisha (neither of us could believe the idiocy) and then got the hell out of there. Won't be seeing her again anytime soon. Bad judgment can be contagious.
Speaking of bad judgment, who eats this shit anyway?
